The automotive industry is one of the largest users of “engineered nonwoven fabrics”.
Nonwovens cover approximately 3,7 sqm per vehicle, very often in non visible parts. This is a very demanding industry that requires:
new materials, different technical usages, low cost and performing solutions.
Atex’s nonwovens not only offer a reduction in cost and weight but
very often they do the job better than any other textile solution.
Many types of nonwovens are used in this industry, but spunbond and composite nonwovens are more
than 70% due to cost and recycling properties. Current usages for spunbond and meltblown technology are:
Face materials |
door / dash panels |
Backing substrates |
air-bag envelopes |
Filters |
seating / spring covers |
Sound damping insulations |
transportation protections |
Battery separators |
